Archicad versus revit
Archicad versus revit

I need to mention that I haven't personally used the Archicad software myself but rather these are the opinions of my peers around the globe who have used both software and went on based on what's more popular in their industry in their geographic location. Autodesk is certainly the leader in AEC design software with their huge portfolio of different solutions. Integration wise, Revit has a better reputation being an Autodesk software and can work nicely with other design software from the same mother company (Autocad, Autocad Civil 3D & 3Dsmax). Not to mention, Revit is an American product compared to Archicad which is a German product as of now (Being a company under Nemetscheck Group).įeatures wise and usability, Archicad has a better reputation when it comes to speed while Revit can get slow real quick if the user is not building the project in a proper workflow. The reason I am saying that Revit is better because its the standard BIM software in the US compared to Archicad which is more popular in Asia & Europe.

I agree with the other professionals on this topic by saying Revit is better. ArchiCAD as a program is a lot more optimized program than Revit, meaning you can do more with less (a 300mb project in ArchiCAD with standard library do have more content that a 300mb project in Revit), and it need less resources to run, besides it’s truely multi core program (any CPU that have more than 8 cores is not cost effective), Revit isn’t.
